Wildlife conservation experts have warned that Scotland’s iconic native wildcat is doomed to extinction in the wild and will not survive without major conservation action.

@thelifeofsuthy wrote: “Conservationists say it is ‘too late’ to save our beloved Scottish Wildcat. This will be an unforgivable loss. They have been critically endangered for a long time now, yet the Scottish Government has continued to allow deforestation in key strongholds.”

@7point7billion added: “Scottish Wildcat’s total population is approx 400. Human population increases by over 450 people ... every 3 minutes...”

@dariopol said: “Tragic. We need to wake up to what we are doing to the planet and to other species.”

@beastsaver replied: “It surely isn’t too late. Bring some in and let them multiply. So adorable. Who wouldn’t want to do that?”

But @Felicitym tweeted: “Good job no one told the wildcats that continue to survive and breed in the wild.”

#M&SSCOTLAND

Scottish consumers have taken to Twitter to complain after The Scotsman broke the news that the initial rollout of Marks and Spencer home deliveries will not cover homes north of the Border.

@ttdwsn tweeted: “Hold on, we have “Foodhalls” over quite a lot of Scotland, and they can’t afford to send someone out with a van from those?”

@Happiest_gurl wrote: “Of course not. We are the poor relations after all.”

@Richardlochhead quipped: “Launch of M&S food delivery service will not cover Scotland – M&S must stand for Missing in Scotland.”

@putey_pute added: “Watch the nationalists make this commercial issue a political one.”

#GLASGOWAIRPORT

Glasgow Airport revealed yesterday that it expects to lose nearly one million passengers because of airlines such as Ryanair cutting flights. @Rcnosebits said: “With train times to central London of around 4 hours – same as by air – who’d want to fly?” @Seanm1997 added: “The airport is struggling to compete with Edinburgh which is growing very quickly. How long before Air Transat, Virgin Atlantic, Westjet and Wizz Air shift their ops to Edinburgh?”
