#HIBS-CELTIC

Hibs say they will work with the authorities to identify the people who threw bottles on to the pitch during Saturday’s Scottish Cup quarter-final against Celtic. Celtic won the match 2-0 thanks to goals from James Forrest and Scott Brown, but the match was marred by unsavoury incidents when objects were thrown on to the field of play.

@Bbcsportscot reported: “Play was halted at Easter Road briefly after Willie Collum retrieves a glass bottle thrown at Scott Sinclair during a corner kick.”

@STVNEWS added: “Celtic manager Neil Lennon slams the ‘totally unacceptable’ incident which saw a bottle of Buckfast launched at Scott Sinclair.”

@Record_sport tweeted: “Hibs insist Celtic fan also launched bottle as they condemn Scott Sinclair incident”

@Williekeane wrote: “Even the stewards are hiding from the bottles flying down at Scott Sinclair. Crazy.”

@Mcnallymirror commented: “Wonder how much interest the media, police & SFA will take in home fans throwing a Buckfast bottle & a coin as #Celtic winger Scott Sinclair prepared to take corners? A glass bottle could have left Sinclair with a very serious injury. Similar to Ibrox 2017 when attacks ignored.”

#MARR

Tony Blair has insisted he is staying in the Labour Party despite having a “great deal of sympathy” with the Independent Group of breakaway MPS.

@Kaparelle tweeted: “Blair got it quite wrong, as usual, on @BBCONE #Marr. Tig are not moderates from both parties. They are extremists from the Tory party and moderates from Labour. There is a big difference.”

@Louise_rowntree added: “#Tonyblair says UK needs to decide on ‘soft’ or ‘hard’ Brexit ‘before we leave’. I’d go way further: we should have decided that before (or in) the EU Referendum. Time for our sovereign Parlt to #Revokearticle50 & take the time to sort this #Brexitshambles out.”

@mjb222 commented: “12 years after leaving office, #Tonyblair still sounds like the only grown-up in the room #Marr”

@Angelarayner wrote: “One of the best interviews I’ve seen from Tony Blair on #Marr all shades of red are needed in our @Uklabour party to take on this nasty Tory government who are wrecking our country.”
