#BREXITVOTE

Twitter chatter was predictably dominated by Brexit in the wake of Theresa May’s Brexit deal being defeated again by 149 votes. In all, 75 Conservatives voted against the PM on Tuesday evening.

Spoof account, Elizabeth Windsor @Queen_uk spoke for the nation: “You are all absolutely sodding useless. #Brexitvote”

@Nikolai_avenger observed: “The trouble is, Theresa May doesn’t think it is a bad deal.”

@Yaelk9 added: “The only winner in the House of Commons today is John Bercow’s Elmer the Elephant tie! #johnbercow #elmer #Brexitchaos #Brexitvote”

@Angusmacneilsnp meanwhile pointed out: “Remember #Brexit can be ended in an afternoon by #Revokearticle50 and sending one letter to the EU to reverse the PM’S letter of March 2017 ... But there are only 16 days to do this.”

@veganomically said: “Extraordinary that it’s so hard to understand. We literally can’t rule out a no deal, if the EU don’t agree an extension to the process and Parliament doesn’t agree a deal then the outcome is ‘no deal’. No one wants it so please MPS agree a deal,”

@Teslamark1 tweeted; “Taking no deal off the table is two fingers up to 52% of the UK who Voted Leave! Leave, not leave with a deal, leave! Parliament is in stalemate and trying to betray the people. #Brexitvote”

@bendashper wryly noted: “Another day, another #Brexitvote. Why does Theresa May hold so many votes? So she can win one now and again.”

@Jackploppy added: “Listening to PM on @ Bbcradio4. There is literally no one in control. It’s like the day before an asteroid is due to strike. #Brexitvote”

@Spectraliser believed: “In any sane world it would be illegal for any UK MP to engage in any activity that is de-facto betting on the pound falling.”

@jason_lb argued: “To the MPS thinking of voting to take a “no deal” Brexit off the table. Please don’t be stupid and take the ONLY negotiating angle off the table!” #Brexitvote

@karen_renton concluded: “How’s about we cancel the whole thing. Get all the facts in place and try again in a couple of months. This is a mess. Doesn’t inspire confidence in our government. This shower are going to have sole control when we leave. Imagine that.
