Mcinally focus directed only on gaining seventh win
Table-topping Peterhead travel to Berwick Rangers tonight and man ager Jim Mcinally has told his players to forget about their closest c hall engers, Edinburgh City, losing 3-1 to Annan Athletic on Saturday.
The Blue Toon can open up an eight-point lead and Mcinally insists: “All that matters is securing our seventh consecutive win. I have not thought about other results. I have told the players to do the same and to carry on being relentless.”
Meanwhile, Berwick manager Johnny Harvey reckons that the Shielfield club cannot feel sorry for themselves because bottom side Albion Rovers have pulled to within two points.
Albion were awarded a 3- 0 win over Clyde after it was discovered the Bully Wee had played the ineligible De clan Fitzpatrick against them last month and they built on that by beating Stirling 1-0 in their last outing.
Harvey said :“Berwick were not involved so we need to concentrate only on ourselves.”
Clyde, who entertain
Elgin City, have appealed against the points deduction from their win over the Rovers and draw with Queen’s Park.
The matches have both been recorded as 3-0 defeats and despite their case going to the S cottish Football Association, manager Danny Lennon is not looking any further f or ward than the match against Elgin.
Lennon said: “We want to finish as high as we can. If we win this one, we are virtually assured of a play-off place which would allow us togo for promotion that way.”
Elgin boss Gavin Price is looking for a win to boost play-off hopes. He said: “We need to put pressure on Annan.”
