The Prince of Wales today undertook engagements in Cumbria and was received by Her Majesty’s Lordlieutenant (Mrs. Peter Hensman). His Royal Highness this morning visited Pirelli Tyres Limited, Dalston Road, Carlisle, to celebrate the Fiftieth Anniversary of the firm’s Carlisle factory.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon opened the new Windermere Jetty Museum of Boats, Steam and Stories, Rayrigg Road, Windermere. His Royal Highness afterwards visited Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team, Low Fold, 1 Old Lake Road, Ambleside.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, Foundation for Common Land, subsequently attended a Meeting at the University of Cumbria, Rydal Road, Ambleside.

His Royal Highness later visited the Hawkshead Relish Company Limited, Esthwaite Old Hall Barn, Hawkshead, Ambleside, to mark the firm’s Twentieth Anniversary. ST JAMES’S PALACE

The Princess Royal, Patron, Transaid, this morning visited Unicarriers United Kingdom Limited, Thame, Oxfordshire, to mark the 50th Anniversary of the company, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Oxfordshire (Mr Timothy Stevenson).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Butler Trust, this afternoon visited the Operational Response and Resilience Unit, Oxfordshire.the Princess Royal, Patron, Stroud Hospital League of Friends, this evening visited Stroud General Hospital, Stroud, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Gloucestershire (Mr Edward Gillespie).

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon visited Hillsborough Castle (pictured) and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of County Down (Mr David Lindsay).
