Glasgow gourment kebab chain dishes up three new stores

Glasgow-headquarte­red German Doner Kebab (GDK) is to expand its footprint across S c o t l a n d wi t h a £ 2 mi l l i o n investment in new stores.

T h e f a s t f o o d c h a i n i s t o l a u n c h a s e c o n d G l a s g o w b r a n c h a n d a n E d i n b u rg h outlet in July, while doors at its Aberdeen store are due to op en in the four th quar ter. U n d e r i t s l o n g - t e r m g o a l s , GDK will i nve s t mor e t h a n £2m i n a d d i t i o n a l S c o t t i s h sites and expects to create up to 150 jobs.

This follows an announce - ment earlier this month that the chain is moving into Saudi Arabia, with a developmen­t agreement to launch 100 Saudi franchise outlets in ten years.

The company has an overall growth pipeline of 350 units over the next seven years.

GDK, which i s p a r t o f t h e Hero Brands group owned by the Sarwar family, operates in the UK, Sweden, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman and Bahrain.
