Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson called on the next Prime Minister to block another Scottish independence referendum in response to Nicola Sturgeon’s nascent plans for another constitutional vote.

@The_mighty_s added: “And she gets to announce the next PM SHOULD refuse a request for another S30 – without being challenged about her 2016 statement that no PM should refuse Scotland a Section 30.”

@Banksiaplum hit out: “I guess it’s OK for her to change her mind but [she] doesn’t want to let Scots who voted No in Indyref1 have the opportunity to change their mind. One rule for Tories and another for everyone else.”

@Honestman2709 agreed: “A party that hasn’t won an election at any level of government in Scotland in decades that still thinks it runs the place.”

@Politicsscot posted: “Ruth ‘flip flop’ Davidson has the arrogance to think she can tell an entire country that they’re not allowed to have a vote on independence. Sorry Ruth, you’re just not that important or influential. You don’t get to rule anything out.” @Yesscot added: “Ruthdavidson is on record as saying that a future independence referendum should *not* be blocked. We must have a choice. Scotland’s future should be in Scotland’s hands, not those of Boris Johnson.”

#GAMEOFTHRONES

After avoiding spoilers throughout Monday, UK fans were able to react yesterday to the epic battle at the heart of bumper Game of Thrones episode The Long Night.

@Twittertv revealed: “Fire, ice, dragons, and 7.8m tweets. Game of Thrones shattered The Night King and the record for most Tweeted about TV episode of all time.”

@Bernardtalkssci posted: “The show has a lot of shocking moments but this season proves that those moments were not twists or gags or ratings boosters, rather they were inevitable, they had to happen to get us to here, they were the only outcome that made sense in the end.”

@Lezgocraycray dissented: “Is it just me or did anyone else feel disappointed? There were a lot of epic moments but there were also moments that made me question if this is the same show I loved 8 years ago.”
