Cars ban plans

-

Radical plans to ban the most polluting vehicles from the whole of Edinburgh are being considered by city council leaders. Not so much a ‘climate emergency’ as an ‘SNP assembly funding emergency’. First they will come for your car, then the wood-burning stove, then if you haven’t converted to solar heating, your gas central heating system. All to satisfy wee gauleiters and their authoritarian rules.

More unnecessary – and unworkable – nonsense from the hot air factory that passes for a council in Edinburgh. Cue more businesses closing down or moving out to more business-friendly cities.

Reality Demands To Be Heard

Extended to the whole of Edinburgh City, eh? Should be interesting therefore to see how they intend to

enforce this on the very road that bypasses Edinburgh, the A720.

Tighthead Prop Simply another reason not to visit Edinburgh ...!

Mr Grumpy

... or work there.

Andrew Mccaig The entire city has air quality problems. Some areas are much worse than others. This will make it better for everyone.

Dunno much

Perhaps if they hadn’t made the Edinburgh road network a confusing, congested mess the cars and buses wouldn’t spend so long standing still and pumping out fumes.

Psycrow

It’s up to the people of Edinburgh who voted for parties that supported reducing the pollution caused by cars in the city. But it’s going to have an impact. When I am shopping in Edinburgh I drive in; how many others will be stopped from shopping there? There are 000s of car parking spaces in Edinburgh, how many people will bother going in if they cannot drive? Will it cause companies to close?
