#JEREMYKYLESHOW

ITV has permanently axed The Jeremy Kyle Show following the death of a guest shortly after he filmed an appearance on the show. The programme had run for 14 years.

@Brendanoharasnp stated: “The real test of how seriously we take the tragedy of The Jeremy Kyle Show will be in how quickly this or something very similar returns to our screens and how many of us tune in to be shocked, outraged and appalled by the behaviour on display.”

@mikejibson proclaimed: “Dear @ITV, you have no idea how lovely it is to switch our TV on mid morning and not even get a tiny glimpse of that horrible programme you’ve finally axed. It’s genuinely put me & my wife in a better mood today, knowing it will never appear again.”

@Daaronovitch pointed out: “Arguably “the right time” to cancel #jeremykyleshow was before this tragedy happened, not after it?”

#ISLAMOPHOBIA

Prime Minister Theresa May’s UK Government is set to reject the proposed definition of Islamophobia on free speech grounds, saying it “needs further careful consideration”. @awaleolad stressed: “Clearly there needs to be recognition of anti-muslim prejudice in our legal system and recognising the definition of Islamophobia is key. Shouldn’t really need to think twice about it or whether it infringes free speech – it doesn’t!” @Hijabitographer posted: “Very disappointing that @theresa_may is rejecting the definition of #Islamophobia on free speech grounds. Is it free speech when women like me are attacked, harassed and threatened?” @radium_blue added: “Why doesn’t #Islamophobia get the same status and understanding as AntiSemitism ? Doesn’t seem fair to me.”

#MICKJAGGER

Rolling Stone Sir Mick Jagger appears to be back in good nick, dancing around a studio just weeks after undergoing heart surgery.

@Snowfrost18 tweeted: “We seen them play live in Stockholm. What a night! Go see them while you can.”

@Gabewinchester4 exclaimed: “*See’s #Mickjagger trending* Me: *Panics* Oh god he’s dead. *clicks on hashtag* Me: Oh Thank God. He’s dancing.”

@Monamikell added: “Still got the moves.”
