Former Arbroath stalwart Burnett set to make debut for Carlton
By Former Arbroath batsman Fraser Burnett is set to make his CSL Eastern Premier Division debut for Carlton this afternoon in the Edinburgh derby with Watsonians.
Burnett ser ved t he Lochlands men very well for many years but, as he is now working in the capital, he has joined up with the Grange Loan outfit.
The 30 - year- old’s experience and presence in their top order with the bat will be crucial, depending on how often he is available.
Spin bowler Chayank Gosain also comes into the team and their South African all- rounder Corne Dry knows the experienced players are key moving forward.
Dry said: “The Carlton first XI is full of good players and it is up to more experienced cricketers like captain Ali Evans, myself, Arun, Cheeky [ Gosain] and Fraser to help the younger players come through.”
Watsonians defeated Aberdeenshire last week and are fourth. Callum Martin, Paddy Brown and debutant Fraser Kinloch come into the Watsonians team.
Leaders ion8 Forfarshire are at home to StoneywoodDyce. Ror y Johnston and Josh Thomson are both out, replaced by Christian Robertson and Craig Mcconnachie.
St oneywood- Dyce t r avel to Broughty Ferry with Matt Dalton in to keep wicket. Stuart Lister strengthens the batting and bowler Jon Grant is also called up.
Mazars Grange are in second place after their positive run chase at StoneywoodDyce seven days ago and this weekend t hey are hosting Arbroath. In the only change to the Grange XI, Ryan Flannigan comes in at the top of the order in place of Nick Farrar. For Arbroath, Greig Peal replaces Craig Ramsay.
