or if it will still be cheaper to go to the same places but flying from Newcastle, Manchester or London.

Leigh Whitson It’s time to invest in airport access. Peak times and special events in the area are horrific. This is the single issue causing misery to many airport users.

David Baird Why are people complaining about a new terminal that can help Scotland trade with other countries when we are independent. As for people who say it’s about pollution, does that mean they never fly, either on holidays or for work?

Betty Montgomery

Could somebody not have paid for a one-way ticket?

Stephen Gladstone

Pity it can’t cope with the extra flights. Queueing for ages in security, also through the stupid Epassport readers that aren’t fit for purpose. Only last month I queued on to the tarmac in pouring rain. Then you have the baggage belts that move at a snail’s pace. Yes, welcome to the capital of Scotland.

John Monaghan Great! There will soon be no better destination to cater for all my shopping needs.

Alan Brown What is this costing and who’s paying for these claims/ideas?

Jimmy Watson This is the council that can’t empty bins yet thinks they can find a magic solution for gas heating. If climate change idiots want to stay in a cold, damp tent in a field then crack on. Leave the rest of us alone.

David Carr Wear more clothes, problem solved.

Stevie Clancy They should discuss all alternatives with engineers, not just come up with an idea that we change the world within 10 years. People who control budgets in cities have no idea what they are talking about. What is the point of replacing boilers etc if all the heat escapes through singleglazed windows?

A bit of a ‘pipe’ dream I think.

Marion Woodward

Meanwhile, our friends in the USA continue to drive around en masse in their gas guzzlers while using vast amounts of power on unnecessary air conditioning. Whatever Edinburgh tries to do is made meaningless by just one small US town.

Ken Johnston A start would be to not build 100s of new homes all with gas central heating then.

Frances Petrie-hay Exemptions for historic vehicles like classic cars or steam trains are essential. The problem with the Greens’ policies is that they have good intentions but horrible applications for ordinary people. As an entire nation the UK is one of the world’s lowest C02 producers! Imagine how tiny the contribution from classic cars or steam locomotives must be?

Brett A Murphy For the first time ever I actually agree with Murdo Fraser. I love seeing classic cars driven on the road, and the Triumph Stag is my favourite.

Colin Steele Should the cars with the highest emmisions be exempt from Low Emmision Zones? Erm, naw.

Ally Miller

Based on whole life emissions, I should think that the classic cars are way lower than something with lithiumbased batteries, which only shifts the actual emissions to somewhere else.
