Ruth Davidson facing different ways on the Brexit and independence debates

-

Ruth Davidson has how many faces?

She backed Remain in the Brexit vote… now she supports Leave.

She stated Scotland had the right to hold Indyref2 … now she says we don’t.

She now says the SNP needs a majority before they can negotiate a Section 30 order, as that was what it said in the SNP manifesto.

Actually, the manifesto said a consistent majority OR a material change such as being taken out of the EU against our wishes.

All this from a leader of a party who has contested eight elections and lost every single one!

Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson is spot on with her comments on another Scottish independence referendum, which should only to be justified if the SNP win an overall majority in Holyrood.

This would be a significant vote by the Scottish electorate and is in keeping with First Minister Nicola Sturgeon’s viewpoint that she would only call for Indy2 if there was a clear chance of winning. DENNIS FORBES GRATTAN

Bucksburn, Aberdeen Ruth Davidson has let off another damp squib – ‘SNP need outright majority before Westminster will allow Indyref2’.

The Claim of Right focused on the people of Scotland and if the people, through its party representatives, vote in Holyrood to have Indyref2, then it will be.

The next outburst from the increasingly hysterical Ruth Davidson will probably be a screech demanding that only when every voter votes SNP can there be an Indyref2.

How long will it take before the parties and persons calling for Indyref2 are labelled terrorist?

Failed Tory leader candidate Andrea Leadsom had stated that she would not rule out Indyref2. That is likely to cause panic in the ranks of Tories in Scotland. Since this Tory leader election is primarily an internal party matter, it must be intended for Ruth Davidson. She has been mouthing off too much and achieving nothing. London Tories must now feel they do not need Tory lobby fodder from Scotland.

Thetorieshave beenrejected by Scots and now they could be chucked aside by their head office. Indy all round for Scots and English!
