Johnson is as sharp as a razor.

Bea.sutherland So Blojo is just pretending to be a clown, then? Not sure how you know that he is “as sharp as a razor”, there’s rarely any evidence of that. I’ve no doubt that he has intelligence, but by putting on the bumbling Boris show for so long, he may well have become his own creation, a la Dr Jekyll.

Infamous Clarity The new prime minister marked his first visit to Scotland with a tour of the Faslane naval base, before meeting First Minister Nicola Sturgeon at Bute House.

Wonder if she will insult him as she did Theresa May by having two saltires rather than one saltire and one Union flag...

Dave Smith If Nicola tries the two flags stunt I wouldn’t put it past Boris to pull a Union flag out of his pocket and hang it over the lectern front and centre!

No2 Communism

I just wish he’d told her to come and see him at Faslane!

Paul Holyrood We’ve heard Scottish opinions on Boris Johnson over the last two days and the negativity from the public has been a real eye opener, deciding he’s no good for Scots, not to be trusted etc. How do they know – he’s only been in the job a week and already shaken up the Establishment, replaced half his cabinet, made the EU sit up and take notice and given the country new hope.

Boris will promote Indyref2, more than Sturgeon can, without even trying!

I would suggest it’s a joint drive. The Conservatives and SNP together in the front seat, both pumping on the gas, daring each other to take their foot off the gas first before reaching the cliff edge. Chicken being played by so-called adults, with the ordinary man, woman and child in Britain their victims. She’s certainly going to be told – again – that there’ll be no second referendum.

Worldwide Football Fan Eventually though, Boris and his gang of Eton/oxbridge basket cases will be told there will be a second EU referendum.

Gillan Campbell Since Sturgeon has been totally intransigent and offensive in her interactions with Westminster,

Boris should be equally intransigent in his approach. Remind her of the £13bn annual subsidy she needs to fund Scotland and tell her she can have a referendum once she publishes a plan to survive without it.

Sandy Stewart Meanwhile, new Secretary of State for Scotland Alister Jack said he would fight SNP calls for another referendum on independence “with all of my being”.

Glad to hear it.

Angry Scot Great news indeed. The troops must have been ordered to keep quiet until after the meeting today.

Edmund North

These Brexiteer extremists are determined not to let the people have a say.

Handsome Scotsman

Have the SNP cottoned on yet that their days are numbered?

634 TDJ

Yes the writing is on the wall. Winning the last eight consecutive elections, including the most recent two months ago, really shows they are on the wane!

Edinman

At the last time of asking less than 16 per cent of the Scottish electorate voted for them. Hardly riding the crest of a wave of popularity, is it?

Reality Demands to be Heard

Music to the ears of 66% of the Scottish electorate. Not to mention the generations to come after them.
