The Seattle Mariners beat the Texas Rangers 8-5 – their sixth successive win. Domingo Santana got Seattle off to a flying start with his 21st home run in the first inning with Kyle Seager doubling the lead when he found the fence in the second. A four-run sixth inning saw the Rangers tie level at 5-5, but a Kyle Seager triple and Tom Murphy RBI single saw Seattle take the win.

The New York Mets needed extras to see off the Chicago White Sox but Jeff Mcneil and Michael Conforto went back-to-back to seal a 5-2 win in 11 innings. The Baltimore Orioles got back to winning ways with an 8-5 victory over the San Diego Padres. Elsewhere, Adam Duvall had two home runs as the Atlanta Braves defeated the Washington Nationals 11-8, the San Francisco Giants were downed by the Philadelphia Phillies 4-2 and the Arizona Diamondbacks only gave up five hits in beating the New York Yankees by the same margin.

Travis d’arnaud hit a 453-foot homer as the Tampa Bay Rays edged out the Boston Red Sox 6-5, the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Cincinnati Reds 11-4, the Houston Astros downed the Cleveland Indians 2-0 and the Minnesota Twins pipped the Miami Marlins 2-1. Vladimir Guerrero Jr hit a grand slam in a 9-2 win for the Toronto Blue Jays over the Kansas City Royals, the in-form St Louis Cardinals saw off the Chicago Cubs 2-1, and the Los Angeles Dodgers raced to an early lead and held on for a 9-4 win over the Colorado Rockies. The Los Angeles Angels were helped to a 6-1 win over the Detroit Tigers thanks to a Mike Thaiss two-run homer, and the Oakland Athletics edged the Milwaukee Brewers 3-2 thanks to a Matt Olson home run in the 10th.
