Plan B for...

-

Dunfermline and West Fife SNP MP Douglas Chapman is backing a “Plan B” motion among activists which would see a Nationalist victory at the next Holyrood or Westminster election providing a mandate for the Scottish Government to open negotiations on independence.

Plan B ? What a joke. They can’t even come up with a Plan A on questions of what currency, bank of last resort, who’s funding the bank and where’s the money coming from, the hard border with England, immigration, the economic plans of surviving out of the UK and out of the EU... and a thousand more questions.

Auld Reekie And who might the negotiations be with? It certainly won’t be with Westminster. They’ve closed the door on all this nonsense. The people of Scotland are not the SNP’S pawns or playthings and the Holyrood Assembly is not a platform for political agitation or malfeasance. This latest charade, a wilful defiance of what Holyrood was set up for as well as a two-fingered gesture to the majority who voted No in the 2014 referendum, provides an ideal opportunity to shut the whole silly Assembly down.

Worldwide football fan Future scenario: UK (England) out of EU. Scotland out of Uk.scotland in EU – hard border with England, our biggest customer. Identity politics madness over economic sanity. We would impoverish ourselves within years. Ranting on about Westminster or Boris or whatever cannot hide the stark truth that there is a market of 60 million people just on our doorstep, who we share more in common with than differences.

Gerald Marshall No chance of isolated Scotland getting into the EU for decades, decades of austerity max and isolation and financial upheaval that is...

Roastin “All the signs are that a rightwing Tory government is not going to play ball over another Edinburgh Agreement.” Because you people have shown contempt for the undertaking you gave to respect the result of the 2014 “once-in-a generation” referendum.

Jock Tamson Boris Johnson is temporary UK Prime Minister, Scotland pulling out of the UK is permanent. If the SNP had a viable plan for independence, it could be considered and it might even be sensible, but the SNP have NO plan. The SNP criticises some amongst the Tories for their “Brexit at any cost” mentality, but it’s the same mentality that the loony wing of the SNP espouses towards Scottish independence – “Independence at Any Cost.”

Walk on

Walkers and cyclists are to get priority over everyone else on the roads. The new National Transport Strategy will effectively spend £60 million

The next step? Banning cars from Scotland’s roads. The SNP - dragging Scotland kicking and screaming into the 19th century.

Mikieboy51 First it’s a tax on your car parking space, now its the creation of cycle lanes and the deliberate narrowing of roads, all of which will create congestion. The Green Tree Huggers continue to exact their pound of flesh for supporting the SNP minority government.

634 TDJ I haven’t heard any mention of those who drive electric cars excluded from the car parking tax or indeed, those who have hybrids and can prove that they only use the electric motor for the journey.

Proud2bescots ... or exclusions for “disabled” workers and how many will be allowed at each workplace.

Ninja Turtle It’s a good idea in theory. What analysis has been done on the risk of increased pollution due to more congestion etc? (I think we all know the answer).

Bruce Scotland First priority is to get tubby, useless SNP ministers on their bikes and stretching their legs walking to the labour exchange.

Jock Tamson A real step in the right direction.

Gillian Campbell Whether we like it or not, the Golden Age of Motoring is long gone. However, it will take many decades before fossil-fuelled cars are phased out by the gradual introduction of electric and hydrogen powered vehicles

Hog Weed Holyrood limos and helicopters will be safe.
