Winning mentality key for Mckinnon at Falkirk

Falkirk manager Ray Mckinnon wants to continue building a winning mindset at the Bairns by defeating Celtic’s Colt side in their Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup secondroun­d tie.

Mckinnon’s team romped past Dumbarton 6-0 on Saturday and Mckinnon said: “We set the tone by scoring early and we will look to do the same again. Winning will help build the right mentality at this club.”

Celtic coach Tommy Mcintyre said: “Our players will respond positively to this tie.”

Stranraer are set to be without seven players for the visit of Rangers’ Under-21 side, with manager Stephen Farrell saying: “We have injuries, suspension­s and cup tied players so this will be a test of our resources.”

Ibrox coach Graeme Murty said: “We won at Berwick in the last round, but we need to more clinical to win again.”

Raith Rovers boss John Mcglynn will not risk strikers Grant Anderson and Kieron Bowie against Ross County Under-21s in Dingwall after they picked up knocks in Saturday’s 5-2 win over Clyde.

“The league is our priority and if they are not fully fit, they will not play,” explained Mcglynn.

Clyde look to bounce back against Motherwell’s under21s, while Dumbarton are looking for better against St Mirren’s Colts, with manager Jim Duffy saying: “We gave Falkirk the chance to showcase their talents and they took full advantage.”

Airdrie make the short trip to face Hamilton’s Colts, with Montrose hosting Forfar in an Angus Derby.

East Fife will hand starts to 16-year-oldsjoshmc­conville and Rory Cosgrove against visitors Stirling Albion.

Brechin City will look to recover from losing a lastgasp goal to Edinburgh City by defeating visitors Elgin, with the Citizens heading to Stenhousem­uir.

Cove Rangers visit Brora Rangers and Peterhead have added former Celtic and Dundee midfielder Ryan Conroy ahead of hosting Formartine. Annan Athletic entertain Kelty Hearts.
