Student death sparks protests
Police in Bangladesh are investigating the killing of a student at a university dormitory.
Hasina has promised justice to the family of Abrar Fahad, a second-year student, who had criticised the government online.
Last weekend’s killing, allegedly by student activists loyal to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has sparked protests at the University of Engineering and Technology in Dhaka.
Police have arrested at least 11 students for their alleged involvement.
Hundreds of teachers and students took part in a silent procession on campus yesterday to demand justice.
