PM raises tariff woes with Trump
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has underlined his disappointment at the US announcement of tariffs against UK and EU exports in the Airbus-boeing dispute.
A Downing Street spokesperson said the PM warned Mr Trump that tariffs will harm a number of industries including Scotch Whisky.
Downing Street confirmed that in a phonecall, Mr Johnson pressed the President not to impose the tariffs. Scotch whisky makers are facing the prospect of paying a 25 per cent tariff on exports of single malt to the US from the end of next week
