Harry Kane silenced Anfield in the first minute by nodding home from close range after Son Heung-min’s deflected shot came back off a post and Spurs should have gone further ahead when Son rounded Alisson but hit the crossbar.

Jordan Henderson’s deflected shot levelled the score, then Serge Aurier’s clumsy foul on Sadio Mane allowed Mohamedsalahtoscorefromthespot.

Arsenal threw away a twogoal lead to draw 2-2 at home to Crystal Palace. Sokratis Papastathopoulos and David Luiz both in the opening nine minutes to put the Gunners in control. Jordan Ayew levelled before Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka was substituted and, following cheers from the home fans, appeared to swear twice before tearing off his shirt as he exited.

Wolves came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw at Newcastle, who led when Jamaal Lascelles headed home in the 37th minute. But Jonny levelled with 17 minutes left. Newcastle finished with ten men after Sean Longstaff was dismissed for a challenge on Ruben Neves.
