While the secondhand sales market for homes slows down at this time of year, for those still househunting, developments of new properties are being launched throughout the next couple of months.

Buying at the beginning of the build process in new locations certainly has its advantages, with attractive incentives offered including a contribution to LBTT and part exchange.

Buyers also get their pick of properties and may be able to tailor interior finishes to their taste.

This month, Miller Homes has announced four new developments in the East of Scotland.

On the southern edge of Livingston, The Grange, Murieston, offers four and five-bedroomed homes in ten styles.

Available to buy now with a summer 2020 move-in date, the five-bedroomed Weir features bi-fold doors, a galleried landing and is priced from £459,995.

In the leafy village of Liff, near Dundee, Sycamore Dell offers buyers an escape to the country with the attractions of the city only four miles away.

A range of four and fivebedroomed homes are now available to reserve, priced from £274,995.

Miller Homes will shortly launch a development in Dunblane, Stirlingshire. Victoria Park will feature a collection of beautiful three, four and five-bedroom homes. The town is particularly well suited for big city commuters, with a train service to both Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The developer is also expanding its offering in Edinburgh, with Edgelaw, which launches this Saturday. The location is off Lasswade Road and close to the City Bypass. Prices for the three, four and five-bedroomed homes will be released this weekend.

Cala Homes is launching four new developments in the West of Scotland, Orchid Park and Beatrice Meadows in East Dunbartonshire, as well as two developments in Larbert near Falkirk – Kinnaird Wynd and Kinnaird Lee.

Orchid Park will offer a collection of 48 homes, with current prices from £408,000 to £635,000, in the town of Lenzie, eight miles from Glasgow, while Beatrice Meadows, which launches next month, will bring 118 properties – including one, two and three-bedroomed apartments, detached houses and townhouses – to the village of Kirkintilloch.

The two new developments in Larbert come after Cala sold out its previous site in the area, Kinnaird Oaks.

Kinnaird Wynd, the larger of the two new sites, will feature 123 homes, including a mix of one and two-bedroomed apartments, three

and four-bedroomed homes and townhouses. Prices range from £134,000 to £268,000.

Kinnaird Lee, situated nearby, will have 51 three, four and fivebedroomed homes priced at £275,000 to £449,000.

Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has just launched the first homes for sale at its new Pentland Green development in Bilston, Midlothian. Located off Seafield Road the development offers 191 new homes with two, three, four and five bedrooms as well as twobedroomed apartments. Prices range from £200,000 for the two-bedroomed semi-detached Andrew up to £393,000 for the Wallace five-bedroomed detached.

With Pentland Hills Regional Park on the doorstep, Pentland Green has the convenience of Straiton, Loanhead, Roslin and Edinburgh city centre in reach. The park-andride at Straiton or nearby Shawfair train station makes it an attractive location for commuters.
