In the face of Jeremy Corbyn’s general election battering, the Labour Party looks set to have a new leader by the end of March.
@emmettmcdermott1 wrote: “March last year would have been more useful!”
@dinomahoney added: “Three more months? Why? So he can anoint boring Rebecca Long-bailey to be his Corbynite successor.”
@Ambigserge tweeted: “Need someone bulletproof because whoever replaces [Corbyn] will also become a media target.”
@Namecan replied: “Corbyn was an easy target because his own words and actions came back to haunt him.”
@Moiradundee wrote: “There’s no need to hurry, there won’t be another election for five years.”
@sabartram added: “As well as a new leader, Labour will need a good shadow cabinet, ideally covering all wings of the party and all areas of the country (except maybe Scotland, as only 1 MP). All this must be in place by spring at the latest to give us any hope at the next election.”
@Fatalephlegm said: “We’ll be offered a choice of multiple neoliberals, all smiling & parroting the word ‘socialism’ over & over again until some people start to believe it. Don’t think I’ll bother voting this time.”
#TOPGUN
A trailer for Top Gun: Maverick, the long-awaited, barely expected sequel to the Eighties Tom Cruise jet action blockbuster, has, as the kids say, dropped online.
@Gembiscuits tweeted: “I bet 30 years from now Tom Cruise will be doing Top Gun 3 and Mission Impossible 9.”
@Smittumi replied: “And still somehow look in his 40s.”
@Angelab9555 said: “Top Gun is one of my favourite movies, I’m super excited to see this!”
@Copiercolin said: “Can’t believe Tom Cruise actually learned to fly the jets. That’s pretty cool.”
@Astrosforlife17 added: “They say the aerial shots in this movie are incredible, mainly because it’s all real with no CGI.”
@din0092 tweeted: “Looks like an advertisement for selling fighter jets.”
@ONEUPLFC replied: “Absolutely. I’ll take two. Hope they take Paypal.”
@johnkioya whined: “Was there really any need to ruin this for us?”
