Capital jobs firm in Dubai push

- By SCOTT REID

Edinburgh-based energy recruitment business Advance Global Recruitment (AGR) said a “new chapter” had began with the opening of an office in Dubai.

The firm said that since 2013 it had been successfully providing recruitment services to clients across the Middle East region.

On the back of that, AGR has taken the “strategic decision” to establish a permanent office in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Bosses said that by having a permanent presence in the UAE, the business would be geographically better placed to service existing and new clients not only in the Middle East, but across the wider Asia Pacific region.

Mark Adams, currently based in AGR’S head office in Edinburgh, will be relocating to Dubai and will take up the position of regional manager, Middle East, from 1 February.

Stuart Hunter, AGR’S chief executive, said: “This move demonstrates our commitment to the significant energy hub of the Middle East region. It will give us a direct interface with the clients we already support in the region. It will also provide us with better access to the Asia Pacific market.

“I’m also delighted that Mark has been appointed to run our regional operations and to help deliver our growth strategy by making the permanent move to the Middle East. Mark is experienced in all aspects of AGR processes, ethics and culture.”

Adams added: “I’m thrilled to be going to Dubai to represent AGR. It is an enormous opportunity for me.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge, meeting the many clients we already have in the area face to face, and building the AGR Middle East operation into a key part of the overall AGR service offering.”

The firm – founded in 2011 – said its new operation will be based in Gold Tower, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, located in the centre of Dubai.
