The right wing former Apprentice contestant has been suspended by Twitter after attacking black British rapper Stormzy.

@silphiumt wrote: “Weirdly enough I just blocked her the other day for some vile comment about coronavirus. I peeked at her feed before doing so. She has issues. So much bilious anger and prejudice.”

@thehowie wrote: “If she were an elected official, they would allow her hate to continue. Trump’s account is very much at risk when he leaves office.”

@Bensfletcher said: “She called me a waste of a human once. It’s now a line on my resume under Achievements.”

@jonwvalentine warned: “The same people will come for your free speech you know.”

@gianni9uk added: “About time! Her perceived mainstream acceptability has always been one of the biggest issues. Until the big corporations begin to accept some responsibility for the words and actions of the people to whom they provide platforms, then they are very much part of the problem.”

The ITV News presenter has stepped down after ‘errors of judgement’ on social media – ITV said he had breached editorial guidelines. He had quoted a Shakespeare passage including the word ‘ape’ in an exchange with a black user.

@adamhembrow said: “The quote has nothing to do with colour but the behaviour of the person. This is a massive problem today’s world is facing. ITV has made a huge mistake.”

@sheepthatthinks said: “He knew exactly what he was doing, by using a very narrow and to him (subtle) racial caricature to disguise it.”

@scottyt502 said: “Unfortunate, but this is the 21st century so why use such quotes… a bit clumsy.”

@Taskgforceaegis said: “Stewart should take them to a tribunal, no way does quoting Shakespeare count as gross misconduct that should see you fired.”

@peteharry23 said: “If it is offensive to quote Shakespeare surely his works should be banned ? Why aren’t ITV calling for this? Or would that reveal the absolute nonsense of this debacle?”
