Boss Mccall hopes everything clicks into place for basement Partick
PARTICK TH V AYR UNITED

Partick Thistle manager Ian Mccall is more interested in his new-look side gelling against Ayr United this evening than the prospect of moving off the bottom of the Ladbrokes Championship.
Thistle will jump above Alloa if they take all three points in their televised tussle with the promotion chasers at Firhill.
Mccall has continued the transformation of his squad this week by bringing in Queen of the South defender Darren Brownlie and moving on Sean Mcginty, Gary Harkins and Craig Slater. He insists the performance of his team tonight is the main focus.
“I have managed to get a good few bodies in and it will be really interesting to see how everything links together,” explained Mccall.
“We had made changes before the Arbroath game last weekend and not everything gelled but hopefully there will be plenty of cohesion in this performance.” Ryan Williamson and Stephen Saunders are sidelined because of injury but Zak Rudden – recently signed from Rangers on a two-and-ahalf-year deal – is expected to return after suffering a knock at Gayfield in the warm-up.
Mccall added: “In the situation that we are in it is important to win and that is all we are focusing on just now.
“I am not going to look too far into the future as there is still a good bit of the season to go. At the moment I want to see the team gelling and winning.”
Ayr have seen off Dunfermline, Ross County and Inverness Caley Thistle in their last three outings and tonight have the opportunity to go second.
Striker Scott Tiffoney has been added on loan from
Livingston but Craig Mcguffie and Kris Doolan have been released, while Andy Geggan and Craig Moore miss out through injury.
Ayr player/manager Mark Kerr is not quite sure how Partick will line up but he said: “The boys have gone about their business well recently and one of the reasons for that is that they have been able to adapt to situations on the park quickly.
“You go out with a plan but your opponents could come out with a different shape or different personnel and you need to change.”
