Haste ye back?
An independent Scotland would receive an “enthusiastic” reception if it sought to rejoin the EU and could enjoy a bespoke re-entry process, former EU president Donald Tusk has claimed.
Doubt if they’ll be welcoming an ‘independent’ Scotland. The Times reports a fall of 3% in Scotland’s GDP. Our national debt has increased from 7% to 7.2%. Don’t hear Sturgeon banging on about this. SNP – economically illiterate.

Donald Tusk ... the European Tony Blair ... ‘I will give you an interview for the right price’ is now doing the circuit.

Mr Tusk, you’re having a laugh! Having just lost one of its biggest net contributors, what the EU really needs is Scotland applying to join the club in order to be a net beneficiary. Really? Stop giving the Seps false hope. They can’t present a viable fiscal and economic case for an independent Scotland and until such time as they can, Indy and rejoining the EU are complete non-starters
Lemonpiper GB Expect lots of these comments, take the whole picture; there was much talking into his chest during that interview.

Poland says ‘Witamy [welcome]!’ All the EU will welcome Scotland.
Let-them-eat Teacakes
Let’s make this clear. Donald Tusk hasn’t offered Scotland any more than he’s offered the whole of the United Kingdom. There is no extra special relationship for Scotland.
Morgan Norgam “Scotland would not be automatically accepted into the Brussels Bloc, with ‘formalities’ and treaty agreements requiring to be adhered to.” I think this is key to the arguments of the former EU boss Tusk and he carries no clout to offer anything. So no need for tartan celebrations just yet. This is just his opinion and one designed to needle the UK and frustrate the Brexit process. I wish he’d cheer up, too, as he looks like an extra on a vampire movie.
Ingin Johnnie Yet another misleading headline. Tusk clearly stated that an iscotland had to meet all the joining requirements including, accepting the euro. So even if they are enthusiastic it will still be a decade or more outside the EU.
