The former One Direction singer said he would never go on BBC Breakfast again after being questioned about pop rivalries and his mother and sister’s deaths.

@antzee wrote: “That was disgraceful. Imagine having guests on only to antagonise them, rudely dig into their personal life, ask about ancient topics that have been covered extensively, and then treat them contemptuously on top of it.”

@itslwtpride said: “This interview was disrespectful and terrible, you should have asked him about his solo career!”

@agentofdonny said: “Never saw him more awkward and uncomfortable in any interview like that.”

Presenter @mrdanwalker replied: “We asked him loads of questions about his new album but also in the context of his past success.”

@Beesbabe1975 said: “Oh Dan, I know you did. But because you asked about his 1D history and Zayn – the things that made him famous – his fans and clearly him, don’t like it! Don’t worry about it, you do a great job.” @Sallybrealey said: “The fans need to realise the average person who watches BBC Breakfast won’t have heard of him since 1D.”

#CHILDRENSMENTALHEALTHWEEK

The Duchess of Cambridge asked children to be ‘courageous’ and share worries over mental health.

@rhea_mathew said: “Love it! This will have a widereaching impact and it’s a cause very close to my heart, having gone through mental health issues myself. Kids need to know it’s okay not to be okay, and we can be pillars of support for them.”

@ebvt78 said: “This is great as I’ve got a seven-year-old who suffers with anxiety and is scared of things which are ‘just things’ for the rest of us. Thank you.”

@everythinshewan tweeted: “I think it’s time to stop focusing on Harry and Megan, and focus on the good work done by William and Kate. I also think the Duchess of Wessex doesn’t get enough praise.”

@caroleball71 added: “It is so good that people are becoming aware that mental illness is just as much a medical disorder as any physical illness.”
