#PASSPORTS

The UK will start issuing blue passports from March. They will be made by a Franco/ Dutch company at a factory in Poland.

@mcdamien88 chuckled: “I cannot wait to walk straight past Brits and through customs with my EU passport while they wait and queue up for visas and pay for the privilege.”

@Fduchastel888 added: “A significant achievement ... like a dog barking at a passing car ... cool! National pride restored!

@davidpardey1 commented: “Which proves government commitment to global trade, doesn’t it? Difficult concept for protectionist europhiles to understand, unfortunately.”

@habefertig2020 commented: “Sad that Britain cannot print it in Britain. Goes to show that Brexit is a farce ... Why outsource it now that Britain does not have to go through the rigmarole of EU tender processes any longer?”

@Six_writing queried: “Anyone wondering just how long it’s gonna take passports to be delivered now if they’re coming from an EU country? Won’t they be subject to increased border checks etc because of the point of origin?” @beverleybrown9 smiled: “I can’t wait until next yr to watch the Benidorm crew be told that’s 200 cigarettes and one litre of spirits whilst the Irish storm by loaded to the gills with their ciggies & spirits!”

#TYSONFURY

Moments after Tyson Fury was crowned the new WBC heavyweight champion of the world on Saturday night the British boxer led the Las Vegas crowd in a version of Don Mclean’s American Pie.

@trboxing celebrated: “And a song to send everyone home. The King has conquered the American Heavyweight landscape.”

@Albernstein agreed: “Every fighter who wins a title should finish the night singing a song! He gave the fans a boxing show and then gave them a concert! Lol.”

@Woodsy1069 commented: “Tyson Fury butchers ‘American Pie’ by Don Mclean, invites all to sing along. Possible that a star was born tonight. This will get a load of press.”

@liloregan wondered: “Wonder what percentage of the planet was singing American Pie there?”

@rubbertrumpet tweeted: “Most impressive thing about Tyson Fury was singing the world’s hardest karaoke song after the fight.”
