Tam a ‘bam’?

league with the Devil. The punishments they faced weren’t unusually harsh at the time. We need a new Witchfinder General to investigate what’s going on in universities and the Scottish Parliament.

Pardoned? Apologies should be given.

Pietro Pozzi

It wasn’t just for alleged witchcraft. Catherine Murphy (died 18 March, 1789) (also known as Christian Murphy) was an English counterfeiter, the last woman in England to be officially burned at the stake. Catherine Murphy and her husband, Hugh Murphy, were convicted for coining at the Old Bailey in London and sentenced to death on 18 September, 1788.

Singer Lewis Capaldi has branded James Bond actor Sir Sean Connery a “bam” following his comments on hitting women.

Who gives a stuff what Capaldi says and thinks? He’s just yet another jumped-up, talentless celebrity.

Derek Farmer

Sean who? Lewis who?

Jock Tamson

Well, he has to say that – he and his family still live in Scotland and I expect he wants to protect them.

Lux (Not Ron)

Hey Lewis, you’re only a 15-minute fad, Connery is a legend... He was a very handsome superstar; he is still a very elderly, distinguished man!

Lynn Brodie

Barbara Walters said in the past Connery said it was fine to hit women and if he still stood by the comments. To which he said he did and further clarified that he would do it when women argued on a subject for too long (“won’t let it go”, I believe were his words). The video is up on Youtube; there really isn’t much to take out of context.

Jamie Donoghue

Behind Lewis on this. Sean Connery isn’t relevant, but still feels he has the right to command attention by being negative about Scotland.

Nicolette Wickham

When you read the article it’s clear that Capaldi had to assign “bam or belter” to each person so it’s not an insult he came up with himself for Connery.

Joe Middleton

Lewis Capaldi is a very talented current musician; personally if I knew anyone making bad comments about hitting women I would think they were a bam as well – famous or not.

Claire Young

He’s a tubby lad, isn’t he?

Watty Mair

When you have no other arguments, then attack someone’s looks. He has an amazing voice and is internationally successful.

Karen Eves

Stick to the singing.

Robina Fisher

To be fair, most 89-year-olds will have hit their wives; thank God it’s on par with being a beast nowadays.

Ron Mcpherson

“I like Nicola Sturgeon.” Enough said.
