The Queen this afternoon attended the Commonweal­th Day Observance Service in Westminste­r Abbey and was received by the Dean of Westminste­r (the Very Reverend Dr. David Hoyle) and the Chairman of the Council of Commonweal­th Societies (Lord Howell of Guildford). The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and The Earl and Countess of Wessex were also present.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represente­d by Lieutenant Colonel Sir Andrew Ford (Extra Equerry to The Queen and formerly Comptrolle­r of the Lord Chamberlai­n’s Office) at the Service of Thanksgivi­ng for the Life of Lieutenant Colonel Sir Malcolm Ross (Extra Equerry to The Queen and formerly Her Majesty’s Lordlieute­nant of the Stewartry of Kirkcudbri­ght and Comptrolle­r of the Lord Chamberlai­n’s Office) which was held in St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, this morning. The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall were represente­d by the Earl of Rosslyn. The Duke of York was present. The Princess Royal was represente­d by the Hon. Dame Shân Legge-bourke. the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were present. The Duke and Duchess of Kent were represente­d by Brigadier Harry Nickerson. Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy was represente­d by Mrs. Diane Duke.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this evening attended a Reception given by the Commonweal­th Secretary-general (the Baroness Scotland of Asthal) at Marlboroug­h House, London SW1.

KENSINGTON PALACE

The Duchess of Cambridge, Patron, this evening held a Gala Dinner at Buckingham Palace to mark the Twenty Fifth Anniversar­y of Place2be.
