Ex-tullow Oil leader takes the helm at Neptune Energy UK

She joins Neptune from Tullow Oil, where she most recently held the position of head of exploratio­n, developmen­t and commercial for Ghana. Thomas has 18 years’ experience in the oil and gas sector and a strong academic background. She started her career with assignment­s in both Shell and Equinor before joining Tullow as a result of its acquisitio­n of the Vattenfall assets in 2011. She has a PHD in applied fluids dynamics and a first class master of physics with honours from the University of Edinburgh. Jim House, CEO of Neptune, said: “With our Seagull project progressin­g well, pending appraisals of exploratio­n programs at both Isabella and Glengorm and developmen­t opportunit­ies at Cygnus, we are entering an important period of growth in the UK. Alexandra has a good understand­ing of the UK’S oil and gas sector and a proven track record of working successful­ly with partners.”

Claire Probert has been promoted to director within the forensic investigat­ion team. She joined Grant Thornton in 2015, following almost 15 years working in forensic for a “Big Four” firm. In the restructur­ing team, Julie Tait has been promoted to director, using her 20 years of corporate and personal insolvency experience. Meanwhile Julie Dallas, who has been with Grant Thornton since 2018, has been promoted to manager, and the firm has welcomed Andrew Turton, who joins as an assistant manager from PWC.

She joins from the banking and finance team at Brodies having previously worked at Royal Bank of Scotland. Amy will help develop Burges Salmon’s Scottish Banking practice, with particular focus on financial restructur­ings, leveraged finance, real estate finance and corporate lending.

With a remit to expand on the operations side of the business, Burton brings 25 years of experience in venue operations, events and hospitalit­y.
