Expanding Aberdeen-based Asco unveils new finance boss

He has more than 25 years’ experience in oil and gas, including roles with Halliburton, Petroleum Engineering Services and most recently with KCA Deutag. He said: “I am very much looking forward to working with the management team and making a positive contribution to Asco’s strategic objectives.” Chief executive Peter France said: “Gary is an extremely accomplished individual with a proven track record with private equity experience. I have no doubt he will play a pivotal role as part of the leadership team as we seek to grow and strengthen the business.”

Emma Barclay, who joined BTO as a trainee in 2012, has become a senior associate in the corporate team. Debbie Reekie, an accredited specialist in family law and a solicitor advocate, has been promoted to senior associate in the families and individuals team. Jamie Robb is now an associate in the professional liability section. BTO’S Insurance group has also received a boost with two new senior associates, namely Eileen Sherry and Mark Hastings, and newly promoted associate Rhona Mckerracher. Chairman David Gibson said: “We are delighted to share some good news at this testing time and I know that my newly promoted colleagues will play an instrumental role in the development of our firm over the coming years.”

Eilidh Adams, Simon Williams and Gillian Wright, former legal directors at the firm, will join with immediate effect having advanced through its training academy. Gillespie Macandrew – whose teams in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth serve clients from across Scotland and the UK – has also promoted six other lawyers. Lorna Balfour, Lindsay Brycemackay, Stewart Crosbie, Keith Emmerson and Ross Macrae were promoted to associate, while Rae Gilchrist was promoted to senior solicitor. The firm’s chief executive Robert Graham-campbell commented: “We are delighted to welcome Eilidh, Simon and Gillian to our partnership.” He added that the promotions “highlight the strength of our wider team and reflect our continued commitment to nurturing and developing our people.”
