The singer shared an image on her 32nd birthday, thanking frontline workers for all they were doing during the pandemic. The picture led some to comment on Adele’s apparent weight loss.
@katiemeehan_ wrote: “Can we please not celebrate Adele for losing weight like it’s the ultimate achievement? The news articles and tweets are disgusting.”
@melissablake added: “I see that Adele is trending because people are saying how gorgeous she is since she lost weight. Y’all, we’ve been over this... Your weight doesn’t determine your beauty. Your appearance doesn’t determine your beauty. The number on the scale doesn’t make you worthy or unworthy.”
@toomanyemmas wrote: “Yes Adele looks amazing, Adele looked amazing before she lost weight too, Adele is amazing.”
@joesaunders said: “Never mind Adele’s weight loss, her achievements so far are mad: 120 million records, 15 Grammys, 18 Billboard Awards, 5 AMAS, an Oscar, a Golden Globe, the fastest selling album in itunes history and the best selling album of the year 4 times in a decade.” @Lotielamour said: “To my fellow fats who are looking at everyone telling Adele how beautiful she is now she’s skinny – you’re valid, beautiful and celebrated at the weight you are now. You don’t need an ‘Adele’ moment to feel validated. You can achieve and be whatever you want to be right now”
#RORYSTEWART
The politican pulled out of the race to become London’s next Mayor, saying he could not ask his unpaid volunteers to campaign for another 12 months.
@youngvulgarian wrote: “Feels entirely absurd that one year ago this month Rory Stewart became the new [International Development] secretary in Theresa May’s cabinet, and since then he’s resigned from that post, run for the Tory leadership, left the Tories, and run for London mayor as an independent.”
@social wrote: “I’m delighted Rory Stewart has chickened out of running for London Mayor. His ego was always way bigger than his chances of winning, which were between none and zero.”
@ciararushton wrote: “I’m still confused as to why Rory Stewart is resigning because campaigning is difficult... it’s next year.”
