for nearly three months without social interaction with friends. Something is amiss.

My dad was in hospital, I could not spend time with my dying dad. I can’t go into hospital with my daughter this week either when she has my grandson. Sack him. Rules for us, but different for him. Get him out.

Jacqualyne Meikle

He never apologised and said he doesn’t regret what he did. He lies, but some of you continue to defend him and will continue to vote Tory.

I’m in hospital and can’t have visitors, can’t see family like thousands of others. He should practice what he preaches.

Christine Nisbet Stop playing politics. Let’s get through this. We are trying to do the right things in Scotland, so leave them to their own devices.

Lockdown was for everyone. He was just selfish. We couldn’t go for a walk in the park without being fined. One rule for one, another for money.

Angela Byrne We all got a letter from Boris with one instruction, “you must stay at home”. No guidelines, just “you must stay at home”.

Willie Anderson What about ‘do not travel if you have symptoms’, which he did?

Angus Clement I get what the guy has done is completely wrong. He shouldn’t have done what he did and he should go, either by standing down or by being let go. My biggest issue is with the way that this man is being vilified. Is it OK to treat another human like the way that this man is being hounded?

Louise Wilson I think Cummings was an eejit, especially the unbelievable bit about testing his ability to drive safely with his wife and child in the car. However, I still don’t think there is any merit in sacking the man who might be the brains behind Worzel Johnson. I do think a fine is in order, though, and an admission of his stupidity. But, if you sack him, will you also call for the sacking of the paps pack hounding him outside his house and breaking all social isolation rules? There were more reporters attached to him than hairs on his head. They should all be identified, fined and sacked by the same token.

Well done to him for coming out like this and the media should hang their heads in shame. It doesn’t surprise me that he has had death threats at his home and it seems perfectly reasonable for him to isolate on a farm with private grounds.

Danny Mitchell

Nope. Got to go.

The Foundation of Hearts group saw its biggest surge in five years as they target 10,000 members, aiming to pump £2m a year into Tynecastle.

Incredible response and a good statement by Stuart Wallace where he rightly points out that there are questions that need answering but that is for another day. Not holding my breath for reconstruction, but I think the penny might be dropping that we might only have 14/16 teams who can start the season.

Alastair Mccarry

It used to be the club who ran football clubs, now after already saving their team, the fans are expected to save them again because of blatant incompetence from the top to the dugout. At times like this people, regardless of what team they support, have other things to do with their money.

I’m actually amazed that Edinburgh’s wee team has that many fans. They’re certainly not businessmen. Investing in the HMS Gorgie is like getting the first tickets to ride Titanic 2.
