#BORISVOTEOFNO CONFIDENCE
A petition was begun in a bid to remove Prime Minister Boris Johnson from his position.
@Andrewd85 said: “The whole Tory government needs to go.”
@Robertlist tweeted: “He won a General Election, by a landslide, 6 months ago. That is a public vote of confidence. You may not like the public’s decision, but you asked for it, and they have provided it. Time to abide by it.”
@Davidp_official said: “The left still trying to get rid of Johnson LOL. It won’t work snowflakes, but keep trying, I like a good laugh.”
@nsidiwjwosjw replied: “60,000 needless dead, hilarious isn’t it.”
@sandieshoes said: “You get your vote of confidence in the government in May 2024. That’s democracy.”
@Elderkillian replied: “We have a democratic right to petition for a vote of no confidence in the light of events. Just saying.”
@Jesswagner377 added: “He needs to go... but also be held fully accountable. Not just leave and expect others to clean up his mess with no responsibility or accountability.”
@Whey_aye_banzai replied:
“If only our democracy was decided by marches, petitions and Twitter polls. It’s so wrong that it’s decided at the ballot box.”
@spndr said: “The UK public cannot submit a vote of no confidence. We do not have that democratic power.”
@jarl_morai said: “Parliament needs to call it so you need to convince the Tory rebels and labour to start a vote of no confidence.”
@Janecaroline73 said: “Who would decide who would take over if Boris wasn’t in charge though? This isn’t a time for elections and voting.”
@navman1977 said: “Will it matter, they have a 80 majority. There is no point in even debating any legislation because they will be passed in the governments favour. We have another 4.5 years to get through.”
@Measuresluke said: “The country handed him a staggering majority in the house. I wouldn’t waste your time.”
@Bene_elohim said: “There’s no such thing as a public vote of confidence is there? I doubt the Govt is going to endorse or put forward a Bill to enable a referendum on their own competence.”
