Angus Smith

Pamela Mullen Cllr Scott Arthur says: “I don’t understand why parking attendants have been furloughed when they could be out in the city keeping us safe. The parking attendant I spoke to yesterday was utterly bemused and frustrated.” Oh, I dunno, maybe the fact there’s a pandemic happening and parking attendants aren’t essential to public heath or beating coronavirus. A reader yesterday wrote on the Letters page about cyclists not using bells. Poor old cyclists. Rightly castigated for mingling with pedestrians on pavements, certain walkers seem to think it perfectly OK for them to stop “a few paces short of the pavement ... in order to briefly adjust my husband’s backpack”! Please consult the Highway Code – it applies to you too.
