Agency Madebrave unveils record results and ‘work from anywhere’ plan

- By EMMA NEWLANDS

Glasgow-based media firm Madebrave has unveiled record annual results and announced a “work from anywhere” policy – with the latter following in the footsteps of social media platform Twitter.

The global strategic brand agency said that in the year to 30 April, revenue increased to £3.4 million from £2.8 min the prior 12 months, with “strong” financial reserves.

It also said the move to let its team work from its studio, their home or anywhere else follows an internal consultation process. Founder and chief executive Andrew Dobbie said: “We’re allowing our team to work from anywhere indefinitely as long as they’re in a role and situation to do so.

Before the pandemic hit, we had invested heavily in a new 6,600 square foot creative studio space, which we are keeping… we now see this physical space becoming a destination for the brand – but not a mandatory place our people have to work from.

“Another exciting aspect is we now have the ability to hire the best talent from across the globe… This model, which we think will eventually be a blended approach of office work and working from home, will improve productivity, enhance the work-life balance for our team, have a positive impact on the environment, and help us increase the diversity of the business.”

Recent client wins for Madebrave, which was founded in 2012, include Switzerland head quartered food and drink giant Nestlé, while the agency’s client roster also includes Macphie, Firstgroup, Edrington, Distell, Vango, Vets Now and Kandou, the Lausanne-based global semiconductor group.

Campfire, the world-class content production agency that marked Madebrave’s firstever acquisition in 2018, was recently integrated under the latter’s brand.
