much worse so how about trying to save lives ?

Brian Johnson

This is a level of stupidity I have not witnessed before – the threat is always going to be there until we get an anti-viral vaccine. There will be hotspots and if test trace etc was in place this would certainly help. We cannot stay in this state of inertia, the economy is going to tank.

Howard Merritt

So she’s introduced a phased phase 2! There is no logic. Another household can use your toilet but they can’t sit inside to have a coffee. We’re still limited to travelling five miles but flights can come in from England.

Ian Haddow There is no rhyme nor reason to these latest announcements from Sturgeon. She states you cannot get a coffee sitting at a table outside or in a beer garden but hey, it’s OK to open non-essential shops where the risk of infection is so much higher than being outside. In today’s announcements there is not a cheep about proper urgent plans being immediately implemented for schools to go back full-time in August. Sturgeon is handling this coronavirus in an add hoc disgraceful manner! If this Scottish lockdown continues for any longer, people will no longer have jobs to go back to. People should remember just how badly Sturgeon has handled this crisis when she is eventually up for re-election!

Margaret Wall The First Minister is keeping us alive. She has her own strategy along with our fantastic health secretary and their strategy is working, and far better than that of part-time Boris with his “take it on the chin and let it sweep through the country “strategy.

Joe Mulreany It would’ve been a disaster to open beer gardens just before the weekend with Fathers Day. The queues would have been crazy so it’s the right decision.

Steve Bell I thought that the virus is less likely to spread while outdoors. So why can’t restaurants and bars open if they have beer gardens? At this rate more people are going to lose businesses, jobs, homes etc. Yes, people might be furloughed but that doesn’t mean there will be a job at the end of it.

Jackie Cavallaro She’s right . . . after a few bevvies how close do we all start getting to each other and distancing goes right out the window.

Mags Laird This will bankrupt the country. It’s time to think about people’s livelihoods. If I want a haircut or a meal with a drink in a beer garden it should be my choice not like the old people you emptied out of hospitals and into old folks’ homes who had no choice.

Allan Squair Shes following scientific advice. She called these places ‘hotspots’ for transfer of the virus. Folk can buy drink in supermarkets and sit outside. Don’t understand the problem.

Christine Wooley We’ll all be dead of natural causes rather than coronavirus by the time the First Minister gets us out of lockdown.

Paul Bonarius-mcfadden No leader has had an easy time of this and there’s no precedent!. Safety first, always, and if you don’t like lockdown, you’re not alone. Be part of the solution. If you want the precautions lifted, do your part – wear a mask, wash your hands and follow the rules.

Debbie Colquhoun

But you have to travel sometimes more than 5 miles to play, fish, visit relatives, boyfriends, girlfriends,do your shopping. Five miles needs to be reviewed.

John Fenton

Let’s hope the people adhere so we can achieve the goal of normality sooner rather than later.

Bill Brodie Sturgeon is only being cautions becausewhenit comes back she will probably get the blame.
