Nicola Sturgeon said that people should feel positive about the battle against coronaviru­s as she declared yesterday “a good day” with businesses across Scotland reopening and no Covid-19 deaths reported for the seventh dayinarow.

This is brilliant news... shows that caution works... just need to make sure we continue to be careful as we unlock.

In Scotland we are given the National Records of Scotland numbers weekly of all cases where Covid is shown on a death certificat­e as being suspected or a contributo­ry factor in that death. These cases are also going down.

Ann Brown Covid alone doesn’t kill, it almost always kills people with an underlying condition. The issue is that they may have lived for years yet with that underlying condition. Covid means they died sooner, so Covid caused their deaths.
