Sugar glider on washing line
Animal welfare officers were left baffled after a “very usual” rescue of a sugar glider – found hanging from a washing line.
The marsupial, native to Australia, was discovered by a member of the public clinging to a tea towel, on a fourthfloor balcony. It is thought the creature is someone’s pet and may have escaped from a cage.
Officers at the Scottish SPCA said the “unusual” find was a first, having never seen one in Scotland before. It was found at a property in Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire and is now being cared for by the SSPCA.
