Pubs and restaurants in Scotland have been warned they will now be breaking the law if they don’t collect customer contact details.

If it keeps people safe and helps detect outbreaks, then fair enough

Viv Swanson All this QR code to register details is no good. Mcdonald’s and Wetherspoon are relying on customers doing it. Many people are not technically minded and don’t know how to do it and many others are ignorant and choose not to. Track and trace is failing. I have done the QR code twice in a Mcds. Been to German Doner Kebab on Lothian Road in Edinburgh also.

They have a log book and take a name and telephone number.

Alexis Tait People are having a tantrum about giving a name and phone number. The majority of you have it on your Facebook profiles anyway.

Gillian Thomson Customers should be turned away if they refuse to divulge their name and address. The world is in a bad enough state without idiots being awkward.

Richard Stewart Would be better showing some sort of ID. How can you prove names and phones are real?

Jimmy Green I don’t see what the problem is. No doubt folk that didn’t comply would be the first to complain if they got sick after being in the pub.

Lorna Allen Been done elsewhere for ages. Shameful it’s not been done here until now.
