Body recovered from loch
The body of a 30-year-old man has been recovered from a loch on the Isle of Lewis.
Police were called to Loch Caitiosbhal near Marvig at 11.15am yesterday after reports of a swimmer experiencing difficulty in the water.
A multi-service rescue was launched, which included Police Scotland, a rescue helicopter and RNLI.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We received reports that a man had gotten into difficulty while swimming in Loch Caitiosbhal near Marvig on the Isle of Lewis. Emergency services attended and search and rescue operation was launched. The body of a 30-year-old man was recovered a short time later. The next of kin have been informed.
“Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the death, which is not being treated as suspicious, are ongoing. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
