Pedestrian hit by car on A96 dies

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in the early hours of Monday.

The incident, involving a Mini Cooper, happened on the A96 between Keith and Huntly in the north-east of Scotland at about 2.30am on Monday. The 48-year-old pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed while investigat­ions were carried out, with diversions in place until it reopened just before 2pm. Police said an investigat­ion into the collision was ongoing.
