Design studio adds local and global clients such as Glasgow Film Festival

- By EMMA NEWLANDS

Glasgow-based design studio O Street has won a series of new client assignments and campaigns in 2020 – with sign-ups including the Glasgow Film Festival.

The design firm, which was founded by David Freer and Neil Wallace in 2006, also counts Google, Spotify, Brew

Dog and the Scottish Government among its client base.

It has been recruited by the Glasgow Film Festival, which returns in the spring. O Street has previously worked with the Edinburgh Film Festival.

Allison Gardner, co-director of the Glasgow Film Festival, said O Street was awarded the contract for its proposal’s “charm and humour, its warmth and adaptability”.

She added: “We are looking forward to working with the team at O Street to bring the film festival’s distinct identity to life and will reveal the new brand later this year.”

O Street has also this year been taken on by global music company ATC Management regarding its Driift initiative to deal with how Covid-19 is affecting the music industry and has already helped to produce online shows by Nick Cave, for example, and one by Biffy Clyro from the Glasgow Barrowlands on 15 August.

O Street opened an office in Denver in 2017, which is now working with Oklahomabased marijuana company Moods ahead of its launch later this year, while other new sign-ups include The Tifin Group, and Rit Dye. The Glaswegian firm, which has offices in London and Manchester, is also the lead designer for Royal Bank of Scotland’s “The People’s Money” bank notes.

Freer said: “2020 has been a challenging year so far for our business in so many ways and we’re pleased that we’ve been able to navigate through the difficult times so far… we’re really happy to be working with the amazing team at Glasgow Film Festival.”
