Body found on beach identified

The body of a woman found on a beach has been identified.

The woman was found on Inverkip beach in Inverclyde on the morning of August 10.

A medium-sized brown August Pfueller teddy bear was found alongside her, which was dressed in a grey T-shirt with the words “My Buddy” on it.

Yesterday she was identified and her family were informed.

Inquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of death. Police said the death was “tragic” but is not being treated as suspicious.
