Borders strip clubs on council agenda

Scottish Borders Council is to hold a public consultation on strip clubs.

The local authority is looking at introducing powers to license “sexual entertainment venues” in the area and will need to consult residents before doing so.

Currently, any premises that wishes to provide sexual entertainment for a live audience does not need permission. Although there are no known plans for a strip club to open in the Borders, the council will debate the issue next week.
