What are you addicted to buying?
On a non-fashion related note, anything (especially cosmetic products) that comes in a travel size, I have to have. As far as fashion is concerned, it’s onesies. If I see a cute one-piece utilitarian jumpsuit I have to have it.
Best ever bargain?
I taught writing at an arts summer camp one year, and one of the other instructors sold me her old pair of authentic ladies’ cowboy boots in aquamarine with a rainbow phoenix on them for $20. So she’d already worn them in for me. It was the steal of the century.

Name your favourite high street shop.
It’s really difficult to find fat fashion that is actually attractive if it isn’t online. If the UK had Eloquii, it would change EVERYTHING.
Any fashion disasters you’d care to tell us about?
This cute spaghetti strapped black top that I forgot was marketed as lingerie. What I hadn’t realised is that in bright sunlight, or in the kind of fluorescent lighting that exists in shops, it was TOTALLY SEE-THROUGH.
What’s your favourite item in your wardrobe?
The orange faux fur coat that I wore for promo photos for my last show, Desiree’s Coming Early! I bought it from the stylist. It gives a look that just says, ‘Uh-huh. Deal with it.’ I need more of that in my life. ■
