#LOCHNESS

No, there’s been no new sighting of Nessie – Donald Trump called presidential rival Joe Biden ‘the Loch Ness Monster of the Swamp’.

@Jonahdispatch said: “Fwiw, the Loch Ness monster doesn’t actually live in a swamp.”

@redsteeze replied: “All of Scotland is a metaphorical swamp. Just telling hard truths.”

@vocemlibertatis responded: “No. It is not. Greatest minds and literature and greatest whisky.”

And @thegers tweeted: “At least we have actually made a contribution to the world we all live in! Has whatever hovel you come from done and contributed as much as this country has?”

@contrarianhail added: “The swamp that built the modern world.”

@roddyetbetty put it succinctly: “Get tae, ya pathetic wee bawbag. Alba gu brath!”

@historyboomer said: “It’s a horrible metaphor and people are defending it? It’s also weird. Why Nessie? Did he (or his speechwriter) just want a familiar monster? Why not the Godzilla of the Swamp? The Pikachu of the Swamp The Sarimanok, a legendary chicken of the Maranao people, of the Swamp?”

#SEANCONNERY

Big Tam hit 90 yesterday.

@ignisfox1 tweeted: “Happy 90th bday to the best Bond.”

@mwmtalent added: “Wow! 90th! Happy birthday to Sean Connery! My favorite #Seanconnery role will always be his hilarious portrayal of Henry Jones Sr, father of iconic Harrison Ford character Indiana Jones in I. J. and the Last Crusade! Great film! Great actors! Lots of fun!”

@nikgrybaski wrote: “A great actor. Although remembered chiefly for James Bond, he was in some really good films. One I remember that has stayed with me because of his chilling performance was a Sydney Lumet film, The Offence.”

@bysaschabaumann joked: “May you live forever, or at least twice.”

@gipper2020 said: “You were and still are the first and the best! Shaken, not stirred.”
