Ryanair boosts tourist flights to the Algarve

- By CONOR MARLBOROUGH

Ryanair has announced plans to increase the number of flights between Edinburgh and Faro as part of an effort to bolster its links with the tourist destination.

The airline will offer 14 more flights to the Portuguese region every week from 12 UK airports between 11 September and 24 October.

One more weekly flight will leave Edinburgh Airport, taking the total number of Ryanair Faro flights from the city to four.

The move comes after the decline in Covid-19 cases in Portugal and the UK Government’s decision to place the country on a list that holidaymakers can visit.

Other airports to see an increase in flights include

Glasgow Prestwick, Bourne - mouth, Bristol, Cardiff, Manchester, East Midlands Air - port, Liverpool, London South end, Luton, Newcastle and Stansted.

The airline said: “Ryanair is thrilled to strengthen the connection between the UK and sunny Faro over the coming weeks.”
