North Korea leader warns over virus and typhoon

In a rare display of urgency, Nor th Korean leader Kim Jong-un held his third high-level political confer-ence in as many weeks, where he raised alarm about the nation’s coro-navirus response and a typhoon forecast to hit the country.

During an enlarged meeting of the politburo of the ruling Workers’ Party, Mr Kim lamented unspecifie­d “defects” and “shor tcomings” in the country’s’ antivirus campaign. He urged they be corrected swiftly.
