The party’s over

-

Police have new powers to break up house parties of more than 15 people.

I don’t think the police have the resources to deal with petty things like this. People should stay positive and try to get our lives back to normal. Well overdue operations can go ahead, we have to live with changes and new viruses, but we can’t carry on putting our country in lockdown. We are making an anxious society and people are losing their jobs. Schools are sending kids out in the rain as they don’t want them in the classroom at break times. Sense should prevail. You can’t put people’s life on hold.

Margo Blyth Could have done with this months ago. I’m constantly having to battle anti- social gatherings in my street. They all have acted like nothing is happening except their parties.

Got to love this pandemic. It usually takes the government years to have new laws and powers installed, but during all this they have been fasttracked through, no problem.

Ian Addison Maybe if a small number of people weren’t behaving badly and could be trusted to follow the guidance, this wouldn’t be needed.

Jennifer Mcphail Grieve

Another police power that will only be used when politicians tell them to. If the police tackled issues folk are really concerned about, things would be very different.

Lucien Romano “Officer, my house has been robbed.” “We’ll be there in 7- 10 working days citizen.” “Officer, my neighbour’s house has 16 people in it minding their own business,” “Send in the SWAT team and choppers, now!” house was eight from two other households!

Angela Heron It’s amazing how quickly they can draw up laws. Let’s see them repealed just as quickly.

Robert Wright Somebody needs to send a search party out to find a policeman.

Richard Stewart So they go and sit in a pub, what’s the difference?

Paul Fowler Pandemic – just the start of our civil liberties getting taken away. state. Control to the highest form.
